The government of Ethiopia refused to stop illegal actions conducted by 3 former bishops and 25 monks that the Holy Synod stripped of their clergy ranks and excommunicated from the church after being involved in uncanonical consecration. #TheHolySynodoftheEthiopianOrthodoxTewahedoChurch calls for appropriate governmental actions to stop those illegal groups led by Mr. Akalewold (former, Bishop 'Abune Sawiros' ), yet the government keeps silent and it even gave formal and informal guards for those illegal groups while traveling to overtake the legal and legitimate assets of #EOTC , including several churches. All the government media are abstaining from reporting anything about the issue and this causes extreme sadness for the church and we, the followers. As of yesterday, 3rd February 2023, the Holy Synod of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church has called a #3dayfeast for all Ethiopian Orthodox Christian followers around the world to pray for #peace . The Holy Synod also asserts #thewearingofBLACKdressings as a sign of sadness and to call the #Almighty to see the #cryingofpeople. The cooperation of the Ethiopian government with illegal groups led by Mr Akalewold is still continuing as it is continuing to arrest Christian clergy and followers. The government arrested #HisEminenceAbuneYared, #ArchbishopoftheDioceseofArsiAsela, yesterday around 9:45 AM, while it's only 6 days since it daprts #HisEminenceAbuneEstifanos, #ArchbishopoftheDioceseof #JimmaDawuroandKonta from Jimma to Addis Ababa.
